Wildfire Crew Member Training – Firetack

Alberta Public Sector seeks Firetack wildfire crew-member training: five-day suppression/pre-suppression courses delivered across Alberta forest areas. Engagements are as‑needed (no guaranteed work). Instructor ratios: 1:24 for classroom, 1:8 for field. Potential locations include Calgary, Edson, Grande Prairie, High Level, Lac La Biche, Fort McMurray, Peace River, Rocky Mountain House, Slave Lake, Whitecourt.

To ensure the Province remains in a constant state of preparedness regarding wildfire pre-suppression, and suppression activities, ongoing crew member firetack training will be required on an “as-needed” basis, with no guarantees of work. Training will take place over five (5) days with one (1) training provider being required for every twenty-four (24) participants in a classroom environment and one (1) training provider for every eight (8) participants in a field/lab environment. Firetack training may be required throughout Alberta in any of the following forest areas: • Calgary Forest Area • Edson Forest Area • Grande Prairie Forest Area • High Level Forest Area • Lac La Biche Forest Area • Fort McMurray Forest Area • Peace River Forest Area • Rocky Mountain House Forest Area • Slave Lake Forest Area • Whitecourt Forest Area
