Summary
Northern Health Authority seeks engineering/consultant services to design replacement air handling units at St. John Hospital (Vanderhoof, British Columbia). Phase 0 is design of a new AHU#4 for redundancy; subsequent phased designs cover replacement of AHU#1, AHU#2 and AHU#3 with timing dependent on funding.
From the notice
St. John Hospital has three air handling units (AHU#1, AHU#2, and AHU#4) which provide air conditioning for various areas/departments within the hospital. These three units are mostly original and are quite deteriorated on the inside from previous humidification equipment. AHU#1 and AHU#2 are in the upper fan room penthouse and AHU#4 is located a level lower within its own mechanical room. The consultant scope is to design the entire new AHU (new designation AHU#4) for Phase 0 which will provide permanent redundancy to the system, as well as replacement of air handling units for AHU#1 (Phase 1), AHU#2 (Phase 2) and AHU#3, which is formerly AHU#4 (Phase 3). The timeline for approval of the subsequent phases can vary from a few months, to a few years, depending on the project need and available funding. If the budget review and funding approval portion of the project takes longer than six months, revised fees for the remaining work can be reviewed for addition to the Contract. If the project is approved and resumes momentum towards construction within the six month period, the fees submitted as part of this RFP process would be added to the original contract as a scope change. If the project schedule or scope changes significantly upon restart, revised fees would be also be reviewed.
