Summary
Ontario Shared Services is seeking service providers for a roster (Phase 1, urban catchments) to remove and transport human remains for the Office of the Chief Coroner/OFPS in Ontario — including recovery from public places, transport for post‑mortem examination/identification, and transfer to secure storage.
From the notice
The Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OCC/OFPS) investigate deaths that appear to be from unnatural causes or natural deaths that occur suddenly or unexpectedly in the province of Ontario, pursuant to the Coroners Act. The OCC/OFPS is releasing the RFR Body Transportation Services (Phase 1 – Urban Catchment Areas). This opportunity is open to new Service Providers that would like to join and be part of the OCC/OFPS’s roster. Service Providers that have previously entered into agreements for Phase 1 (OCC-0030) and Phase 1 Refresh (OCC-0044) are encouraged to respond and express interest in this opportunity. Scope of Work Service Providers will be required to: • transport Human Remains for further investigation (i.e. PME and identification); • remove Human Remains from public places for storage, further examination, or identification; and • transport Human Remains when there is no identified claimant as required by the General Inspector of Anatomy under the Anatomy Act, as amended, to a secure storage facility.
