From the notice

Through this Request for Proposals, the Regional District of Central Okanagan invites Proposals from organizations that are experienced in the design, manufacture, and installation of vehicular bridges to road traffic standards in British Columbia to perform the design, supply, removals, installation, and associated works for the following two BCL 625 rated bridges: Bridge Site #1 at Bertram Creek Regional Park, comprising: one (1) new clear-span vehicular bridge, approximately 30 feet in length, BCL 625 load rating, spanning the creek channel with all structure above top of bank. Includes design, supply, fabrication, abutment construction, installation, and all associated site works. The Work also includes demolition and removal of the existing bridge (approximately 20 feet in length, steel stringer with timber decking and timber railing) in compliance with the Water Sustainability Act and all applicable environmental requirements. The District’s Maximum Budget for all Design Services and Work for this bridge is $85,000 plus GST. Bridge Site #2 at Johns Family Nature Conservancy Regional Park, comprising: one (1) new clear-span vehicular bridge, approximately 30 feet in length, BCL 625 load rating, spanning the creek channel with all structure above top of bank. Includes design, supply, fabrication, abutment construction, installation, and all associated site works. The Work also includes removal of the existing dual culvert crossing and full restoration of the natural creek channel beneath the new bridge to provide a natural stream bed, in compliance with the Water Sustainability Act and all applicable environmental requirements. The District’s Maximum Budget for all Design Services and Work for this bridge is $85,000 plus GST. Contract Time: for both bridges; there are Water Sustainability Act work windows that apply to in-stream work, however the proposed clear-span bridge works will occur outside the stream channel and are therefore not subject to those restrictions. In addition, the District can confirm that a Section 11 notification process will be completed by the time of contract execution on August 10th, 2026. Based on this; Design Services may commence anytime after execution of a contract (anticipated August 10th, 2026) and Total Completion of all Work for both bridges must be achieved no later than November 30, 2026. The successful Respondent from this RFP will perform the Design Services and Work (including supply of equipment/Products, installation, and associated construction works) under the CCDC14 Design-Build Stipulated Price Contract. The Design Services will be based on the successful Respondent’s Proposal to this RFP process.
