Removal of existing shingles/membranes and some cladding, inspection/repair of roof substrate, installation of flashings, new cladding and a new metal roofing system on a government building in Bell Island, Avalon Region, Newfoundland and Labrador for buyer BGIS; hazardous-material abatement to follow specified procedures and after hours.

.1 Work of this Contract comprises generally of a roofing materials replacement/ upgrade of a government building, located in Bell Island, Newfoundland & Labrador. Work will include the removal of some building cladding and all existing roofing materials (shingles/ membranes) to facilitate the installation of flashings and membranes, installation of new cladding, and new metal roofing system. .2 Any work involving removing of hazardous materials shall be removed after regular working hours and following proper abatement procedures. .3 An inspection of the existing roof substrate shall be completed to ensure that the existing wood surfaces are adequate for a new shingle installation. An inspection of the existing eaves and fascia shall also take place. Acceptance by the Departmental Representative shall be received prior to moving on with any other portion of the work. **See tender documents for a more indept SOW for design**
