Public Health Ontario (PHO) believes that the following procurement qualifies as a sole source or single source procurement. The purpose of this Advanced Contract Award Notice (ACAN) is to determine if there are other suppliers capable of meeting the requirements of the procurement for the following services for PHO. Vendor – Life Technologies Services – Outlined in the ACAN Purpose – Thermo Fisher Service and Preventative Maintenance PHO’s laboratory performs molecular testing of various viral, bacterial and fungal organisms using PCR and Sanger sequencing instruments analytical step in nucleic acid detection. Service and maintenance are a mandatory requirement to ensure our systems are operational and meet regulatory standards. PHO currently uses the following molecular PCR and Sanger sequencing instruments at the Toronto, London, Kingston, Timmins, Ottawa and Thunder Bay laboratories: • QUANTSTUDIO 5 • QUANTSTUDIO 7 FLEX • SIMPLIAMP Thermo Cycler • VARIOSKAN LUX 30 • 3500xL Genetic Analyzer PHO believes that Life Technologies (part of Thermo Fisher Scientific) is the sole service provider for performing preventative maintenance and service on their proprietary platforms. PHO intends to award a one (1) year contract to Life Technologies for the goods
