Summary
Hawkesbury and District General Hospital (Ontario) seeks consultant services to perform a comprehensive operational review of its Medical Device Reprocessing Unit (MDR): evaluate current functionality, effectiveness, regulatory alignment and organizational fit; identify strengths, weaknesses and improvement opportunities across departments (OR, imaging, ED, ICU, ambulatory, birthing, etc.).
From the notice
HGH’s objective is to undertake a comprehensive review of its Medical Device Reprocessing Unit (MDR), with the aim of evaluating its current functionality, effectiveness, and alignment with HGH organizational goals within the provincial, regional and local standards. This program has never undergone an operational review, yet the programs throughout the hospital have doubled in size and activity since the redevelopment project in 2019. The review will identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement, ensuring that the MDR continues to meet the needs of the various departments, including operating room (OR), medical imaging, materials management, emergency department, intensive care unit, ambulatory care and family birthing center and unit. Programs serviced in the OR include, Dentistry, Otolaryngology (ENT), General Surgery, Gynecology, Obstetrics, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic Surgery, Urogynecology, Urology, Endoscopy, and Gastroenterology.
