Summary

MiHR (Ontario) seeks a consultant to develop and write content and storyboards for a four-module, ~60-minute SCORM-compliant Intercultural Awareness eLearning for the Canadian mining sector, including learning objectives, learner text, workplace scenarios, knowledge checks, resources and rights documentation, and revisions with MiHR.

From the notice

BACKGROUND As part of the Canadian mining industry’s commitment to attracting, retaining and integrating a more diverse workforce, the Mining Industry Human Resources Council (MiHR) is developing a series of Intercultural Awareness eLearning modules for the Canadian mining industry. As the sector continues to respond to changing labour market demands and increasing workforce diversity, these modules will strengthen industry awareness and capacity related to cultural diversity, cross-cultural communication, and inclusive workplace practices. OBJECTIVE To develop and write content for one Intercultural Awareness eLearning training comprised of four modules for the Canadian mining sector. This content will then be used to create detailed storyboards and produce SCORM-compliant eLearning modules. Learning content should be developed with the understanding that the final topical Learning modules will be no more than 15 minutes in duration., and the full training will take no more than one hour to complete. The training is intended to establish a common foundation in intercultural awareness for managers, supervisors, employees, and industry leaders, strengthening their understanding of inclusion and building the competencies needed to work effectively across cultures. By fostering respectful, safe, and welcoming workplaces, the training must support the successful integration of newcomers and immigrants into the mining workforce through greater cultural understanding and practical approaches to inclusion. It must also equip organizations with tools and resources to assess and enhance their equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) practices, helping to cultivate inclusive workplace cultures and improve the attraction, integration, and retention of a diverse workforce across the mining sector. STATEMENT OF WORK The services of a consultant are required to write and structure learning content for interactive eLearning modules that strengthen intercultural awareness in the Canadian mining sector. The modules will help learners: develop the knowledge, skills, and practical strategies needed to navigate cultural diversity, communicate effectively across cultures, demonstrate inclusive workplace behaviours, collaborate respectfully with others, and contribute to safe, welcoming, and inclusive work environments across the industry. DELIVERABLES Create the content outline for new Intercultural Awareness modules designed for the Canadian mining sector. Develop and write content for each module, addressing key topics such as (but not limited to) cultural diversity, intercultural communication, inclusive workplace behaviours, respectful collaboration, and practical strategies for creating safe, welcoming and inclusive mining workplaces. Provide the content in a clear, organized format suitable for transferring into storyboard templates for SCORM-compliant eLearning development. Include learning objectives, key messages, learner-facing text, workplace specific scenarios and/or examples, reflection questions, knowledge checks and recommended supporting tools or resources (i.e.: case study handouts, templates, etc., if applicable) for each module. Where any third-party or web-based materials are used or recommended as supporting tools or resources for the modules, the consultant must document the source, copyright status, license or terms of use and any required permissions, attribution or usage restrictions. Review and revise the content in collaboration with MiHR, to ensure accuracy, relevance, appropriateness for mining industry audiences, and readiness for storyboard development
