D2. SCOPE OF WORK D2.1 The Work to be done under the Contract shall consist of structural pier rehabilitation works riverbank stabilization works, underwater riprap placement and supply and installation of bridge bearings. D2.2 Parts of Work include: (a) Part 1 – must achieve the Critical Stages in accordance with D22 and be substantially complete in accordance with D23 and shall include all the Works of the Contract described in D2.3(a) below. (b) Part 2 – execution of the Part 2 Work is subject to the City obtaining legal access to the private property located east of the bridge on the north riverbank to undertake Part 2 Work as describe in D2.3(b) below. If the City provides notice in accordance with D21.3 that the property is available for entry, it may be undertaken in the same timeframe as Part 1 or it may be deferred to fall/winter of 2027/2028 and be substantially completed in accordance with D23.1(b). The contractually binding schedule is subject to the Contractor’s binding declaration as per D21. D2.3 The major components of the Work for both Part 1 and Part 2 are as follows (a) Part 1: (i) Mobilization (ii) Traffic Control (iii) Installation and removal of temporary access roads to river level (iv) Installation and removal of temporary access berms in the Red River (v) Supply and installation of sheet piling around perimeter of river piers. (vi) Partial removal of existing concrete collars on limestone block river piers. (vii) Design, supply, and installation of micro-piles around perimeter of river piers. (viii) Installation of reinforcement ties including coring transversely through concrete- rubble-filled limestone block pier shafts, casing the core holes and grouting the bars. (ix) Supply and installation of reinforcing steel dowels into the limestone block piers. (x) Supply and placement of concrete reinforcing steel. (xi) Supply and installation of reinforced concrete base slabs and pier jackets at river piers. (xii) Supply and installation of rockfill columns on north riverbank on the west side of the bridge. (xiii) Supply and placement of underwater and riverbank riprap as SU2, SU4, the south riverbank, and on the north riverbank (under and west of the bridge). (xiv) Temporary jacking and support of bridge superstructure. (xv) Removal of existing bridge bearings. (xvi) Installation of new bridge bearings supplied by others. (xvii) Supply and installation of new bridge bearings. (xviii) Fabrication of miscellaneous metal. (xix) Restoration of the area disturbed by Part 1 Works including the south side laydown area, the north side laydown area, the south riverbank, and north riverbank (under and west of the bridge). (b) Part 2: (i) Re-Mobilization for Part 2 (refer to Forced Deferral in accordance with D21.7 and E4). (ii) Re-Establish Traffic Control for Part 2 (iii) Supply and installation of rockfill columns on the east side of the bridge, including site access development. (iv) Supply and placement of underwater riprap along the north riverbank on the west side of the bridge. (v) Restoration for the Part 2 Works. D2.4 The funds available for this contract are $12,665,000.00.
