The Village of Burk’s Falls is requesting quotations from trained, experienced, qualified professionals in hazardous materials abatement industry to carry out the work. Before commencing any Asbestos-Containing Material (ACM’s) related work, provide owner or owner’s representative satisfactory proof that every worker involved in the abatement/remediation activities has had instruction and training in the hazards of asbestos exposure, in personal hygiene and work practices, and in the use, cleaning, and disposal of respirators and protective clothing. Where applicable, include fit tests for the type of respirators to be used during the remediation procedures. The project consists of the removal of existing friable asbestos-containing insulation associated with the muffler of the generator exhaust system. The generator exhaust muffler insulation was found to contain 60% Chrysotile asbestos. The successful contractor will be responsible for the following: Removal and disposal of Friable or non-Friable asbestos-containing materials in accordance with O. Reg. 278/05. Supply and Installation of new product to replace the removed Friable or non-friable asbestos-containing materials. Completion of minor/major construction modifications or adjustments required to ensure proper fit and operation of new installations. Provision of all necessary labour, tools, fittings, and incidental materials required to complete the work, unless otherwise specified Maintaining a clean and safe work area and performing clean-up after each installation Coordinating directly with Village of Burk’s Falls Public Works to arrange access and installation scheduling. Contractors submitting quotations shall demonstrate: Experience performing hazardous materials abatement industry. Provide site specific abatement plan for the removal, handling, storage and disposal of identified ACM’s to ensure worker exposure level is not exceeded as per O. Reg. 490/09. Ability to complete the work within the specified project timeline.
